I became a lawyer because….. I have always enjoyed interacting with people both personally and professionally. I also enjoyed being a student and learning different subjects. Being an attorney gives me the unique opportunity to combine my interests in people and academia. I also love that being an attorney means a versatile atmosphere-everyday is different and routine is a foreign concept! What I like most about the law is…..The law is what holds a sophisticated society together and being in this profession allows me to participate in the system that I am beholden to. Knowing the laws is truly empowering. My most rewarding case…..involved a custody case where an out of state parent was given emergency custody of my client’s child. I was able to have the child returned by arguing that the out of state court improperly exercised jurisdiction. I felt great that I was able to return the child to the parent who raised her and use the law to do it. I believe our justice system does work so I love to see cases that prove me right about that. I joined Rowland & Yauger because…….. my instincts told me that this was a firm that was not just about money and prestige, but that served its community and its clients. I like that everyone at the firm supports one another. What makes Rowland & Yauger different from other lawyers…..The attorneys in this firm act as a team. When you hire us, you have hired all four of us. We discuss our cases so that essentially every client gets the benefit of our combined experience as lawyers. The smaller firm setting means we remember you and how we are helping you. Someone I really admire is……I would say I admire my parents. They started a business from the ground up. I learned all I know about being a hard worker, being dependable, taking risks and still keeping your sense of humor from them. They have a successful business but remain on a first name basis with all 300 employees—I like their style. When not at work, I enjoy…..I play piano, travel as much as possible, love trivia, socializing with friends, watching football or baseball, cooking, driving, reading
